Michelle is trying to read the waves, Sarat has walked six months for a better life, Sue loves her job as the honorary administrative secretary of the Long Distance Swimmin' Association, Chirah's found a guy who will take them across, Maria just wants to make vegetarian friends, Paul's abroad and has got a new flat with its own security guard, Jerah wants to write about something important, Tara was an assistant manager and wedges herself under lorries and a migrant is found dead on the coast in a wet suit.

Taking narratives of channel swimmers, migrants clinging on to the fringes, stories of the flood and the formation of the English Channel 200,000 years ago, THE EDGE explores the place where the sea meets the land and where we position ourselves within this epic relationship.

THE EDGE is the first part of a year-long project in collaboration with RANANĀ (India). The first stage is reserach & development performances in March made with Central School of Speech & Drama, followed by workshops in India and the UK in August and December.
