  • @canibalowner The unibody MacBook Pro styles can accept up to 8GB of RAM (4GB in both slots - there are only two).

  • My MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2009 Intel 2.26 Processor model came with a 4GB Ddr3 1066 Spec memory, and recently upgraded to 8gb Ddr3 1333 memory.

The Mac Book system says the status of the Memory is OK.

But my Mac randomly freezes and especially if a higher memory is allocated to Virtual Machine Windows 7 on Parallels 5.

Is my Mac eligible to Run 1333 speed Memory and what is the solution.

    Please comment...

  • @no2nonsense The MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2009 machines take PC8500 DDR3 1066MHz SO-DIMMs and is not rated for 1333MHz memory use. The problems are probably stemming from incompatible memory. For the correct memory, please see the link in the video description.

  • @OWCmacsales

    Thanks for the message.

Why is it that the Mac Machine says that the Memory status is OK when the memory is running 1333 bus speed.

Is there a way that i could tweak the 1333 memory to run at 1066 bus speed?.

Is the higher 1333 Memory downwards compatible?.

  • @no2nonsense At this time, we have not qualified any 1333MHz memory modules for use in any Apple computers. That's not to say definitively that those modules are not backwards compatible, just that we don't carry or support those modules at this time.

All OWC memory is fully machine tested and Apple Qualified to ensure a lifetime of trouble-free operation and backed by an industry-leading lifetime advanced replacement warranty.

  • great video! i have a problem though.

i managed to unscrew all screws with a philips 000 screwdriver, except the two middle ones on the bottom. Aren't the all screws the same? i havent got a 00 so i tried with 000 and 0. 0 is too big... i m not sure whats wrong with the 000.

has anyone had a similar thing?

  • @giokkoui first off, using the proper tool for the job is always recommended so that you don't risk stripping the screw. Also double-check the location that you're trying to return the screws to (1:25 in this video) there are additional holes in the casing that do not take screws and you may be trying to return the screws to those holes instead.

  • @canibalowner the Macbook pro has 2 slots...

  • Hi ! Great video guys, i hope it's gonna help me ! But i got a question first, i have a 13 inch macbook pro (bought it 3 days ago), i got 4 GB of RAM, i wanted to know what is the maximum RAM i can have on my macbook pro ? if i buy 2 upgrade kit of 8.0 GB on your website, will it be possible to remove to original ram (2.0 GB Modules x 2) and to add my 4x4.0 GB Modules because i know the macbook has 4 slot for RAM ? It would be great, i could have 16 GB of RAM ... But is it possible ??

  • @OWCmacsales

The Mac Tech Tool Deluxe tool kit also says that the Ram running at 8gb ddr3 1333 Bus speed is Good and does not find fault with it.!!.
