@polka23dot no, actually Heil makes pretty good refuse bodies, if anything it was the large ammount of garbage at each stop this day

This is poorly designed garbage truck.
Was he driving down the road with the stuff spraying?

The Republic drivers in Indy get loads stuck all the time. The best way not to get in trouble is to make sure you dont pack your last few containers or your last few carry can loads to much. That way you can cycle your blade and use the loose trash from your last few stops to break the load free. Never had to have a load dug out.

Yeah, its the same way with side loaders also, and thats what I always do. I always make sure there is plenty of stuff in the hopper to push the load out if the truck is packed tight.
I would assume the FL guys do the same, all those guys are veterans and know what they're doing, but apparently it doesnt always work.

Wow, that sucks... too bad they didn't have a smaller frontload can and a loveseat or other bulk items sitting around... could've dumped those into the truck and broke the load free that way.
I use to pack old broken carts into my ASL if I have a stuck load. We had a pile of them sitting around at the time just for that purpose (those carts came from an acquisition). Drop a couple in, raise the body, run the packer, usually it was just enough to loosen the load, and gravity did the rest.

Its easier for us MSL drivers when we have a stuck load, there is usually stuff laying around we can throw in the hopper to break it loose.
