A basic toss is done with the left hand with your palm outward and your left doesn't throw under, it throws up. How are you supposed to get any height out of a toss like that?

The toss being demonstrated are the basic mechanics for all major tosses. If you want higher tosses, the "Power Toss" will be featured in my "Advanced Mace" series. The power toss will utilize mechanics from this basic toss.

Thumb tosses are more appropriate for batons because of their size. This toss is actually the basic movement for most tosses (including the "power toss").

I thumbtoss my mace all the time. It feels weird doing it the other way xD

Thumb tosses are great for speed. This technique is more appropriate for height.
