How the engine runs after a timing belt change. I thought the fan was making an odd noise so I checked it out while I was shooting. I didn't see the sparks that you see from occasion. Then the knocking noise threw me off. It wasn't the fan on the shroud so I felt the shroud and no vibrations. I go under to see if its hitting the lower shroud and to check for coolant leaks. Then I notice that the bottom lower timing belt cover bolt is the cause of the sparks. It was loose and against the back of the crankshaft pulley.

  • @ganleone Ain't that a pain. I actually had that problem, a chip out of my crank pulley the fan noise went away on its own and oh yeah I had to do this about three times. The 2nd time I did it I put it together about a tooth off and was having REALLY low performance. Got it straightened up and took her out for a cross country from CA to IL and she made the trip flawlessly with some great gas mileage!

  • lol I had the same problem. I accidentally replaced that lower timing belt cover bolt with a bigger one.
