Honestly, the only thing you need your room for is getting dressed, having sex, and sleeping. There is no other reason why you should be in your stateroom on a cruise or even a hotel room on another vacation. If you are ill or injured, then you would be staying in bed anyway...

@ipfreak actually, NCL has some of the biggest staterooms in the industry. trust me, i sail on the Grandeur of the Seas (Royal Caribbean ship) and my stateroom was tiny compared to the rooms on the NCL ships i've sailed on.

@stargateps1 they ask if you could re-use towels to save energy thus saving ecosystem (any little thing helps ) :] i'm a devoted cruiser to NCL and will be taking the Pearl's sister ship Jewel next year. it's a shame that you were dissatisfied with the ship.

I had a stateroom in the Norwegian Pearl. Barely any room to move! The room was not very clean. There was garbage in the room when I first entered it. Also there was a sign in the bathroom asking us to re-use our towels more than once. Yuck!
