4/22/10 Happy Earth Day, please take a moment to learn about vivisection: it affects you just as it affects the animal.

http://suzybanyon.blogspot.com/2010/05/earth-day-vivisection-protest.html

"Vivisection is the practice of cutting into or using invasive techniques on live animals. The term is derived from the Latin word vivus, which means alive."

What You Can Do:

The simplest action you can take everyday is to support companies that do not test on animals, each time you check out of a store it's like a vote; stores lean with customer choice when more support is given to products deveoped free of vivisection. This forces companies that do test on animals to re-evaluate their actions and in response develop more effective, non-invasive techniques in order to stay in business. You may even find that many brands you love are already cruelty free, mine is "Tarte Makeup." I must admit though that it is near impossible to avoid all cruelty free products, but the most important piece is that you are aware.. and when given the choice you choose well.

  • @endanimalabuse4ever Right, moron. How do you think the techniques for open-heart surgery were developed? You wouldn't know because you're not a medical student, nor are you educated enough to have taken a class in the history of medicine. But go look it up on Wikipedia or something.

  • @TheDalmomendonca

    Congratulations. Your conscience has not developed beyond that of an infant. Good luck with your egocentric, subhuman existence.

    "Results from animal tests are not transferable between species, and therefore cannot guarantee product safety for humans."

    --Herbert Gundersheimer, M.D., member, PCRM (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine), Baltimore, Maryland, 1988

  • @kuwaizair Lab animals are routinely devocalized so that the twisted pseudo scientists don't have to be bothered hearing their cries of pain as they are brutally tortured, while restrained and fully conscious.

    The vocal cords are not "ripped out", they are severed. As the animal tries to express their suffering, the only sound that will come out is a soft coughing noise.

  • congratulations! In France, we have associations, but, people are not interested by saving animals. Actually, they don't understand why I'm fighting against this torture. L'oréal for example, are the master of animals tortures... :(

  • That was just a tiny teensy bit psycho...

  • I'm looking forward to a career doing vivisections. You asinine tree-huggers would do well to learn some history. If it weren't for Vivien Thomas and his beautiful mastery of vivisection of all kinds of animals, maybe we wouldn't have open-heart surgery today. This is just one little way in which vivisection has helped use understand medicine and healthcare. I like you better at home stoned than out on the streets proclaiming nonsense.

  • hahaha jesus christ what am i watching, who are these furries in the cages?? why are people wearing bandanas? what the eff is going onnnnnnn

  • so people care about animals but dont care about our libeties being taken away from our government. pathetic

  • i think some people are trying to convince others, that cats who are tested on have vocal cords "ripped out of them", without proper laryendictamy procedures is that true? i don't beleive it. wouldn't that not work right?

    "they cut their neck open and rip out their vocal cords for no reason but so they can't scream"

  • re. why we are still doing it...“Animal studies are done for legal reasons and not for scientific reasons. The predictive value of such studies for man is meaningless.”; - Dr James D. Gallagher; Director of Medical Research; Lederle Laboratories; Journal of the American Medical Association; March 14 1964.;
