  • hey, i have a few questions. im from australia and im looking for something nice and even legendary as my first car. i feel like this car changed everything about BMW in the 80s. Im having troubles convincing my dad about its reliability and maintenance costs so i wanna ask how reliable it is as a day to day car, and how much, generally, would it cost in maintenance and repairs for a car in good condition. good for a first car?

  • @kcwoodfield Heavy as hell? It weighs 2360lbs or so stock. That is only, hmm, about 1,000lbs heavier than your average car today.

  • Nice car. Love the bumpers.

I have an 84 318i as well. Has approx 92k. It's heavy as hell and drives like a tank. Handles nicely.

  • Never understood why the U.S. cars had to have the lights with their corresponding text, explaining what the goddamn light meant. Don´t know why, I always thought european symbology on dashboard lights was self explanatory. Did they considered U.S. owners were just stupid to intepret a simple, self explanatory icon, or what?

  • Beautiful...just happy they uniformed those fucking U.S. bumpers with the rest of the world, BECAUSE THEY WERE FUCKING UGLY!!!!!

  • I honestly thought this was my car cause you have the same exact rip in the drivers seat that I do. But then you showed it was an auto.

  • I just brought one for $850 nz dollars got it a warrant and it flew thru it.. Was well looked after!!

  • BMW 3 Series seemed much more"plush" than the E-36 from the 1990's that seemed to have cheaply textured plastics and thinner carpeting instead. Would anyone have an opinion as to why!?

  • @kcwoodfield Yeah thats what i thought

  • yeah great car. sucks you don't have it anymore.

My car does that final clunk as well when I turn it off. I think it's just a BMW thing with this model car
