It's a short compilation of some of my first and meaningless handheld footages shot with a Sony Z7E. Playing around with manual focus and settings. Bit shaky and irritating at times, while waiting for a tripod. Edited in Sony Vegas (just some soft contrast and color correction, no presets used). The outdoor footages are in cloudy weather at around 8 PM so the lighting wasn't great but I found ways to compencate for that. The manual focus touches are best seen in 1080 ofc, otherwise the whole thing is practically pointless. Especially the clip with the girl in the frame, it's mainly out of focus on purpose.

Music used: Vivaldi - Four Seasons - Concerto No. 2 in G Minor, Summer, I Allegro nonmolto. I haven't made this piece and I do not profit from it, I just own a cd. The whole video is made for testing/artistic purposes not involving financial profits.

  • Did you use another lens on your camera for these shots?

  • @DeadRatProductions Nope, just the default thing right out of the box.

  • @siromashev Seems to have quite a noticeable film look to it. Was this done on Vegas? If not can you tell me what setting you used to get this. I have never seen the Z7 achieve that kind of look.

  • @DeadRatProductions yeah I did it in vegas an year and a half ago so I can't get my hands on the settings, neither Vegas' nor the camera's cuz it's all changed by now. Anyway I do remember tampering with the soft contrast in Vegas which along with the appropriate color grade achieved such look. Sorry if that's not helping much. Not sure if it being shot within the magic hour added much to the film look but yeah, that's about what I remember from those shots.

  • @JCdravenproductions Thanks for the positive response too. I saw your sony z7e night test quite a while ago when I was about to decide which camera to choose and aim for. Today when I did the vid I remembered yours. Take care.
