Hey there, please bare with me as I get back into the swing of things of making videos for you all.
The color story:
I started out dying my entire head Feria Hi Lift Multi Faceted Shimmering Hair Color, B61 Downtown Brown, Cool Brown way back in August. Garnier Nutrisse in Soft Black 20 for the top and Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Ultra Intense Red for Darker Hair Permanent Color, R3 Light Intense Auburn for the last three rows of locs. I then went to Sally's and got L'Oreal Excellence HiColor HiLights in Red with a 40 creme developer.

  • Welcome back! I love your freeformed locs and the colour you have now and the one before. Are you going to grow them to the same length as your last set of locs?

  • @Shahz39 Thank you! I will probably not let this set get very long. Just past my shoulders is probably as long as I might let these grow.

  • Love the color! I've been wanting to color but still a little nervous. Any suggestions?

  • @Keeb820 Dying hair is easy in my opinion. The hardest part is picking out your color and determining if you have to lighten your hair to get the results you want. I think typical beginner mistake are not buying enough color, putting the color on the roots too early if you are lightening your color, and not rinsing it out all the way. If you could have somebody assist you the first time I think you would be fine after that.

  • Do u use permanent dye or semi-permanent? I want to use permanent black dye on my locs but I am afraid it might be too harsh. I don’t want my roots to become thin...

  • @NappyBelle These are all permanent dyes I used. I will only touch up the roots with permanent dye from this point on. If the red or black needs a refresher than I will use semi permanent. You have every reason to be concerned because it is a chemical process, but considering that we really don't do anything else chemically to locs you should be fine. I think if you repeatedly use permanent color all over, then you run into problems.
