From the film 'Fame', 1980, one of the most ubiquitous songs of the first half of the eighties.

  • Irene Cara made the movie---Fame!!! She is the quintessential actress, dancer and vocalist. There is no other talented force graced with all three strengths that made such a remarkable impact on history. Irene Cara portrayed roles of gravity in Roots, and the Myrlie Evers Story. She embodied those characters pain and grace, yet can master the studio of recording songs, like no other. She deserves great honor and recognition on making America a truly remarkable place!!

  • Boydegg are you a stupid, the 80´s was the ultimate time of good music, asshole.

  • Classic! Leeroy,Coco,Bruno,Doris,Danny alltimehigh :)

  • This film captured the zeitgeist of dance and dance music, that had it's roots in black music of the 70's. Post saturday night fever, which commercialised the underground dance disco scene, rooted in the black and gays clubs. Theres a sense of liberation in the music. which was expressed on the dance floors of black clubs long before the film came out. London clubs like the legendary seminal 'Crackers' brought out the black pioneers in terms of dance, fashion and music. Respect 'brothers.

  • @ Gaznugget

Not everyone in America is obsessed with oil and money. :) Not trying to be mean or anything, just wanted to say it.

  • looooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvved Nia Peeples in fame! still such a beauty fom in and outsite!

  • Remember, it's only a movie. In real life (in 1980 New York City), the kids would have been mugged within 10 minutes.

  • @Shifaust

I agreed with everything you said up until the end. Her talent doesn't make America a truly remarkable place. Irene Cara may be a fantastic singer, actress and dancer, but you can't prop up your country based on one great talent. Remarkable places are made remarkable because of their beauty, their people and culture. America is a great place, although it does have HUGE flaws (disasters even) like any other country, namely massive money and oil greed.

  • I got so excited !

  • es bueno el video
