Only a child or a dunce would think the US is in Afghanistan to find the perpetrators of 9/11. Informed people know, it was the US military contractors who perpetrated 9/11 and the complex controlled demolitions it required. But that isn't the half of it. The occupation of Afghanistan is a desperate and pathetic last attempt by the fascist USA to gain power and control through brute force. And it is utterly doomed to fail and the bankrupt USA is in its last days. It's a classic failure pattern.

Dan is right, the real war in Afganistan was finished in mid 2003 as they were driven out of the country, only a few nuts remain planting IEDs and sniping soldiers.
