We found about 10 of these puss caterpillars (asp family)on our front porch.. A friend of out accidentally brushed up against one someone got stung by one of these and it isnt a pleasant sting either..Hospital doctor told us when you see alot of them normally means a rough winter and for texas receiving alot of snow he was correct and also known as wooly slug this little critter is the most poisonous caterpillar in the U.S. The hair conceals spines on the back that inject toxic chemicals. These are extremely painful and can cause fever, inflammation and nausea.
