Guitar Idol Entry - In Search Of The Blue Nowhere

An original composition by Mike Garvey.

This song was originally recorded back in 2009 but I have 're-mastered' the audio and video for this years 'Guitar Idol' competition.

People have commented that the playing on this track reminds them of Gary Moore. Whilst it wasn't my intention to sound like Gary Moore, I take this as a compliment... Gary's a fantastic guitarist!!! There's my usual Gilmour influence mixed in there somewhere too!

With this track I wanted to focus on a composition as a whole rather than a platform to show off! There's some fast licks in there, but this is more about melody and dynamics.

Ps. The title of this track was inspired by Jeffery Deavers' novel 'The Blue Nowhere'.

I do remember it was high gain, chorus and compression. Some delay too.
