An interactive maths problem for you, and more of me making a berk of myself.

I throw a rope around the Earth. Now I want to raise it 2m off the ground, how much longer does the rope need to be?

Funny video, and cool problem! I think I read about it in a Martin Gardner book, if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure you know who he is, but his books are a lot of fun. "

I got this problem from others, but I will definitely check that out.

  • lol "Oh hello! I chose not to see you there!"

  • @LosDynasty Christians believe it is 6000 years old. The card saying "BALLS" signifies that in his opinion that is bullocks. I agree with him. :þ

  • @LosDynasty

It's a well deserved swipe* at young-earth idiotism.

*I'm not a native speaker, so I don't know if this conveys what I mean properly, but it's the best I can do.

  • Wait... I didn't get the 6000 yrs old part...

  • @singingbanana it's supposed to be bawls

  • i think its just 4pi

  • He is just saying some earth facts to fuck up your mind!

    The answer is 12.52...............M

You have 2M at one side of the earth added to the diameter and 2M at the other side so the diameter increases with 4M

    4xpi= 12.52....M

Those facts are mindfuck! especially the 600yrs old xD

  • @SuperMaxTheMan The sign he was holding up said 'Balls' as he said that.

  • Jesus loves you. (I agree with you btw)

  • Even if you tied the rope around Jupiter that way, the answer would be 4*pi.

    Assumption: planets are perfect spheres.

And why are you wasting paper? Save the trees, and yes, most are more than two meters long, you shouldn't be so selfish, also give them some room man.
