I think Andrea meant that men were dropping bombs, starting wars, etc., and then using Christianity or God to justify these actions.

"with your cross painted red white and blue". It's a metaphor. Profit and prophet. A war doesn't have to be a called crusade to have religious undertones, and some things done in the name of God are not religious at all. I think that was part of the point.
