This is a snow flake eel. It's about one foot and a half long. I'm not sure how old it is though. We have to hand feed him pieces of fish, which is what you're watching. This was the last bit of food he ate that day, so he wasn't as aggressive. I'll try to get another shot when we first start feeding him.

  • Why were they so messy? and why was it boring

  • They ate so much fish and defecate a lot. So it builds up unless you have good bottom feeders like crabs.

This one was boring because it almost never came out of its cave.

  • is your eel brakish or fully marine? and how expensive is it to set up a salt water tank for eels

  • (see previous post for the beginning) The only problem I found with this eel is that they're boring and very hard to take care of. They also make a real mess in the tank. I ended up getting rid of it.

Now I have 2 damsels, 3 hermit crabs, a couple clams, and 2 turbo snails. They're all really easy to take care of and hard to kill (so to speak).

Let me know if you have any other questions.
