Selena Gomez and the Scene (also known as Selena and the Scene) is an American pop-rock band formed in 2008. The band consists of lead singer Selena Gomez, drummer Greg Garman, lead guitarist Ethan, bassist Joey Clement, and keyboardist Nick Foxer.Their first single "Falling Down" was released August 21, 2009, with its accompanying official music video being released on August 30. At first, Selena Gomez stated in an interview that she is indeed forming a band and currently recording in the studio. Gomez told Radio Disney that the band name was originally going to be called The Scene, but this name was compromised in order to help younger fans realize that it was in fact her band. Gomez also said that this name was chosen because "scene" is a style, and some people were saying that she was trying to be "scene". So, she took it as a band name.
Creation and "Kiss and Tell"
In Teen Vogue Magazine Gomez said about her band's debut album, "It's what I've gone through with heartache, friendships, and things like that." She also said, "I want my fans to know me a little bit better after they hear this record."Kiss & Tell is the upcoming debut studio album by American pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene. It will be released on September 29, 2009 under Hollywood Records. Gomez worked with several writers and producers on the album including Gina Schock of the Go-Go's, whose written for other Disney acts in the past, and one song, "I Won't Apologize," was co-written by Gomez. Kiss & Tell spent over two years in the making due to Gomez's desire for perfection. Musically, the album has a combination of different styles, prominently rock, synthpop, and dance elements. Lyrically, Gomez did not want to make the material too personal.

The lead single chosen from the album was "Falling Down," which made its debut appearance in the Billboard Hot 100 at number ninety-three and at ninety-five in the Canadian Hot 100. Gomez will promote the album through a number of live performances, in a House of Blues concert tour in 2010."Falling Down," the lead single from Kiss & Tell, was released to Radio Disney on August 21, 2009 and later for purchase on August 25, 2009 in selected countries. A music video, that features Gomez and the four member all-guy band on a black circular stage rocking out in front of a large projection of patterned animated images towering in the background, premiered on Disney Channel on August 28, 2009, succeeding Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie. Critics received the song well, claiming that what Gomez continues to prove is that she has the talent and energy to match any of the other successful Disney acts that came before. "Falling Down" charted at number ninety-three in the Billboard Hot 100 and at ninety-five in the Canadian Hot 100.
