Whatever the explanation for how the city from the future ended up in the present, I'm sure it won't make any sense given how the time travel elements introduce in this game made so little sense so far. I give Square credit for trying to make sense out of the confusing time travel elements in Chrono Trigger, but they only made them more confusing.

Huh, all the references to what this area reminds people of and yet no mention of Xenogears or Xenosaga... to be perfectly honest, those are the games that come to mind most readily. Of course, it helps that the same guy composed the music for the major Chrono~ and Xeno~ games.
