The World Series made its return after the entire 1994 postseason was wiped out due to the player's strike. This series would feature perennial runner-up Atlanta Braves vs. the Cleveland Indians that resulted in the Braves' lone championship in that 14-season string of success between 1991 and 2005.
One interesting quirk related to said strike was that it led to the Fall Classic alternating between ABC and NBC as a result of the collapse of the Baseball Network concept, thus NBC used Bob Costas, Joe Morgan and Bob Uecker while ABC reunited the 1985 World Series-1989 trio of Al Michaels, Jim Palmer and Tim McCarver.
