President tells the world how terrorism was eliminated
September 24, 2010
President Rajapaksa has said that LTTE terrorism which was a scourge to the entire world has been eliminated. He emphasized to world leaders that he is ready to develop the motherland through home grown solutions. The President was addressing the UN General Assembly Summit last night.

The President delivered the address on the inaugural day of the 65th General Assembly Summit, thus becoming the first Sri Lankan Head of State to do so. The President delivered the speech in the first half of the sessions along with some world leaders including US President Barack Obama.
The President said the LTTE was an outfit so brutal, that even those it claimed to represent, the Tamil community of Sri Lanka, were as much victims of its terror as the rest of the population of our country. Those who observing from afar, suggested that the Sri Lankan government should have conceded to the demands of the terrorists, need to be reminded that terror is terror, whatever mask it wears and however it is packaged. To all those he said his responsibility was to the entire nation. His responsibility was to the lives of millions of men, women and children, and those yet to be born. His responsibility was to the peace and prosperity of the nation and the right to a peaceful life for all who live there.

The Government has built an environment for the people of all areas including the North and the East to live in peace and harmony. Emergency Regulations are being withdrawn step by step. The President said that the country was moving towards development surmounting challenges through home grown solutions.

The President opined that they believed that for the rebuilding and healing of the nation to succeed, the process must evolve from within. If history has taught them one thing, it is that imposed external solutions breed resentment and ultimately fail. Theirs, by contrast, is a home grown process, which reflects the culture and traditions of our people.

He said his election manifesto articulates his vision of having sound infrastructure at the national, provincial and rural levels, which is vital for the inclusive growth that will make development meaningful to the entirety of society.

In this globally inter-dependent world, everyone must work together where they can and constructively counsel each other where appropriate. He said the United Nations forms the bed-rock of this interaction and in this role it will always receive the support of Sri Lanka.

The President, as the proud Head of State who totally eliminated terrorism, received accolades from the world leaders. He also earned praise after delivering his address.

  • @indogitrust Why did ponseka eat ur scrotum mother fucking juice bag catholic

  • @Chamath5 No, need we both have wives. But I have every reason to believe that you give your arsehole to Mahinda Jarapakse

  • @gemunuwira then go fuck ur ponseka cos u both are gay

  • @Citizen740 -Rajapakse is not a statesman. He is a common thug. He has the audacity to say he will begin his second term. We know the elections were a big sham. Opposition candidate's supporters were killed, attacked. abducted and their homes set on fire. All propaganda material were destroyed, fear instilled into the minds of voters, unleashed state terror with the help of a corrupt police force. The actual winner General Fonseka was arrested immediately after the election.

  • At the time of independence of both India and Sri Lanka, it was the opinion of the colonial masters that both countries would fail. The reason was both countries did not want to carry on like the way the masters wanted them to. But neither of them failed. Once again the reason is every country/business/person has a unique approach for their needs and a unique solution for their problems.

President MR demonstrated that his solution worked. Well done President. We are proud of you.

  • I am proud of my President , greatest son of our blessed land is the leader who will take Sri Lanaka to a prosperity that was unimaginable. Do not forget the western word & the UNP / JVP / Muslim Conress ,TNA & even educated normal citizens of S/Lanka asking the question "Can LTTE be militarily be beaten ? Why do not we give LTTE a seperate country carved out of my country claiming that "This war will never be won" well my President deliverd his promise , have faith he will do so again & again.

  • President Rajapaksa stands out as a personage of firm determination, someone who can be trusted to lead Sri Lanka in the future. It is not my words that speak out: it is his actions that tell us that he can be trusted.
