@lethargistic You can win by cheating ONLY if you don't get get caught. The judge of the melee, King Renly, saw exactly how Brienne unhorsed Loras, and yet declared her champion. The oxymoron is the notion of winning a melee -- essentially a contest without rules -- by cheating, i.e, breaking rules. If you want to argue that a melee has rules, then tell me what rule Brienne broke. Explain, how she cheated and got away with it.

But if you'd bother to read (and try to comprehend) the section I quoted, you'd see that he's not "upset" about HOW she won (Loras later states "it makes no matter" !!!), but that BECAUSE she won, Renly granted her request to make her a Kingsguard, and yet she (Loras assumes) killed him or let him die. How can you be so dense not to see this?

I abbreviated Jamie's remarks ("...What sort of trickery did Brienne use?”) to save space. Otherwise, the quote was accurate. The words I left out to not alter the meaning.

Loras did not "state" that anything was unfair.

I challenge you to name the rule that Brienne broke to win this melee.

Loras' statement that Brienne won the melee with a trick is hardly tantamount to "crying like a bitch over it, whining and pathetic."

That is merely YOUR interpretation, or rather, your self-serving spin.

It is clear from the context that how she won the melee is NOT what Loras is upset about, as the following shows....
