2 days ago I just got my brand new amp, the Roland Cube 80x! :D This is just a video of me testing the r-fier channel, the sound tone that I will be using for my covers in the future. I recorded this like 30 minutes after I plugged in the amp so I'm just screwing around and playing some riffs on my guitars. I also tried out the reverb which is new to the cube series and it sounds great!

P.S. I have absolutely no idea the video and audio go out of sync slowly. Sony Vegas was acting weird so I had to make this video with Pinnacle Studios and I think it kinda screwed it up a bit. Still you can clearly see that I am playing ;)

  • i bet you are esp fan and roland?

  • @MatKiller1197 used to be, I've become a Charvel fanboy after my latest purchase :) And Roland is a great brand, but I would choose a peavy 5150 top with a 4x12 cab any day of the week...but since I don't have the money or the space in my room I'll have to make do with the cube 80x

  • is 80 w enought to gig bars and small clubs? just intereted??

  • @strabbs1 Yes 80 watts is enough

  • i want to get a new amp and i'm interested in the roland ones but i only have enough money for the 20x should i get that one or should i wait till i have money for the 80x?

  • @unowsk8t Well both amps are (and sound) great, so it really depends on wheether you need the extra 60 watts of power. Are you going to use it for live performances or just for home practicing?

If you only use it for home practicing and smaller stages, then take the 20x. Its a great little amp.

If you need the extra watts and some of the extra features (such as a looper and spring reverb) then go for the cube 80x

All in all, you can't really go wrong here. They're both great! :)

  • I have this amp pushing a Marshall cabinet and it is amazing!!! I play through SD Buckers, SD P-90's and a Tele with SD's in it and I get no noise what so ever and i don't use a noise gate at all. After using high power heads in my younger years, having one of these and get this good of distortion is just KILLER!!!! And the fact you don't loose your speaker when you hook up an external cabinet, so your gaining a 12, the sound is more spread out and smooth...try it, you won't be let down!!

  • How much of that tone is the ESP SV?

  • How much of that tone is the ESP?

  • mycurse of killswitch engage :O wow this amp get nice metal tone :)
