@colinsn201 all true, but AB is not suggesting we cut saturated fats out entirely - I'm sure all he meant is that some of us could afford to cut down on our saturated fat intake, which is probably advisable for the average American. If you've seen more of the series, you know that AB is not fat-phobic or meat-phobic, so I don't think it ought to lose "all credibility."

@RosariumMinister it's from Star Wars. . . sort of.
Luke: "I'm not afraid!"
Yoda: "You will be . . . you will be!"
-
What is the, "It will be!" thing off of. I want to say constantine but Im not sure. About 2:48

This lost all credibility to me in the first 30 seconds. Saturated fats serve critical roles in the human body. They make up 1/2 of cell membrane structure. They enhance calcium absorption and immune function. They aid in body’s synthesis of the essential fatty acids and provide a rich source of fat soluble vitamins.

When he did the creaming method I thought "OMG, he's making a lentil cake!" but when he did cookies... Wow. I've never thought of making cookies using the creaming method. I'm gonna try that. :D

If you don't have a stick blender--which is a sign of normality and a budget less than that of this show--use a wire whisk. With a full on blender you would need pulse and a very light touch. Object is to make the soup thicker, not puree it, in this case.
Not unlike the "grains of paradise"--Guinea pepper, just use black pepper or if you're feeling frisky, white or rose. Or search online for exotic spices and amaze your friends with your bean soup.

alton is the chuck norris of food
Did anyone else notice, that while Chuck says he's not into the Next Generation stuff, at the end he tries to activate his insignia communicator. The communicator insignia was from Next Generation; the original series used hand-held communicators.
