Here's a convoluted question I have. If I do bus my all tracks out to "BUS1" and that "BUS1" I route to "Master Bus", Can I lower BUS1's level to match around -3 to -5dB on Master Bus, leaving Master Bus' fader at 0dB, if my BUS1 is peaking around 0dB. Would it be valid or should I actually hit the BUS1 already at desired -3to-5dB level.

great idea for a series. Just one question, you said to leave the master fader at 0, but then you said if you flatline at 0 or -0.1 you're not leaving much room...i got a little confused...

@deaner18 He is saying to not boost the master fader (or turn it down for that matter) as you should mix all your other tracks individually. This is because the Master fader can then be used to accurately monitor the volume of your entire mix. The MASTER FADE will be at unity gain or 'zero' (meaning that it is letting 100% of your mix volume out of that fader) but the tracks should be mixed so you can see the VOLUME that is coming out that master is only peaking at -3db. Hope this helps :)

@deaner18 Master Fader will always, always be set a Unity Gain, never change that to affect the volume of your entire session. If you session needs to be changed, always change the individual tracks volumes or add compression... Let me know if you have any other questions...
