@phillster2271 I think you have it slightly backwards. I think "blood" refers to the evil deeds being portrayed in the song, and wine refers to the blood of Christ. Thus, the song is about a man who falls into a routine of demoralization.
Makes a bit more sense to me, what do you think?

Johnny Cash would love this song

I'll vote up on this. I think you're correct. That's what I gather from these lyrics.

@ChronSkull you're negating the fact that he is a Christian. Not a religion, but a relationship with God is what their songs are about. You might want to examine the type life this artist you like is living. its a little deeper than just talking about heroin.
-
@mmik that makes sense. I have a tendancy to assume people are pointing towards a positive pretense. Either way, it gives testimony that we are all fallen
-
I agree with mmik, but this song makes ME think of our government more than anything.

@ChronSkull Dustin is a devote Christian and many of Thrice's songs are religious.
-
Really? or is it heroin that he's singing about? Cause im pretty sure its heroin, and theres nothing religious in there. But, whatever keeps you off the wagon dude.

@raaaaaassssssb ---dude, you obviously have no idea what he's singing about. Hes talking about being a reborn Christian. "tasted blood" is the blood of Christ that he gave up for us to cover our sins. Since hes felt the redemptive power of Christs sacrifice, nothing can compare to it. "wine seems to thin" is him stating that the booze doesnt compare to Christ.
I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG.
