Whitman High School student news reports on illegal curricular fees being charged in Montgomery County Public Schools, Maryland. Also, on the posting of student names and debts on school walls as discussed by Delegate Brian Feldman and Board of Education President & Whitman parent Shirley Brandman in November 2008. Also, violation of Open Meeting Act by MCPS Board of Education.

  • wow!! great job. I believe this same principal told the students that even thought the MD constitution requires a free education, the constitution is kind of old and outdated,so you don't really have to pay attention to it.

  • The comment from Dr. Goodwin leaves me confused. At 3:01 in the video, he says "they can post student names but no IDs ..." Besides not making sense (names may not technically be student IDs but they sure are sufficient to identify most students), it is not clear if he is citing a law, an MCPS policy, or something else.

PS: Are there consequences for violations - both for the rules (guideline? law?) he cites or for the MCPS violation (closed-door hearing) cited in the video?
