It actually has been largely proven. Carbon dioxide does trap heat if u don't know that u'r stupid. and u r ignorant to not at least prevent the acid rain created by pollution or the smog n shit computerfis.

the turning lights might seem useless to some, but there is more to it, it is a time for reflection on how much we consume, waste, use without the awareness how much of our resources are used up, and polluted. i think there is a positive aspect by stopping for an hour to just consider all these things, become aware of these issues, and make the necessary changes in our lives

Is it just me or was this an OK finish to the event? I turned my lights off and all electrical appliances for the full hour in support of Earth Hour. Then at 9:00 to my dismay, FIREWORKS!! Fireworks!!?? On Earth Hour night!! Did somebody screw up because isn't Earth Hour about the environment or were environmentally friendly fireworks used? Am I the only one concerned? Everyone is saying Sydney should be praised, I think we should be horse whipped (at least this is environmentaly friendly).
