About the Speaker

Dr. John R. Christy is Professor of Atmospheric Science and Director of the Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he began studying global climate issues in 1987. In November 2000 Gov. Don Siegelman appointed him to be Alabamas State Climatologist. In 1989 Dr. Roy W. Spencer, a NASA/Marshall scientist, and Christy developed a global temperature data set from microwave data observed from satellites beginning in 1979. For this achievement, the Spencer-Christy team was awarded NASA's Medal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement in 1991. In 1996, they were selected to receive a Special Award by the American Meteorological Society "for developing a global, precise record of earth's temperature from operational polar-orbiting satellites, fundamentally advancing our ability to monitor climate."

Nobody said it wasn't. What should make you wonder is that the temperature increase is all they can prove, not why . HINT: It's the giant fireball in the sky, which is putting out more energy. Theres' no CO2 producing factories on Mars and Jupiter, but theyre getting warmer too.

the global warming MAY be a fluke, but its what this alarm causes, its the ripples of movements and changes that resulted from this that counts. actively aware of our environments, the consequences of our actions, i'd say this "lie" if it is even one, produced very beneficial results.

John R. Christy has been accused of recanting his position that climate change is neither Anthropogenic nor Catastrophic, but he didn’t. He used two independent data sets, weather balloon and satellite. (see links in my about me) Later he only stated that there was some anthropogenic impact that could not be predicted 100 years out, but that what we’re doing was good for the plants.

14:00 "Moderate accumulated snow" in Huntsville means someone (probably Doppler Dan Satterfield) saw snow on a car... I remember when 1 inch closed Memorial Parkway when I lived there.
