This is the second video for the 'Chronic Healing' blog (formerly known as Jeanne's Endo Blog). Jeanne, who has Raynaud's Disease and fibromyalgia (among several other chronic conditions) talks about the topic of "winterizing your body" to better cope with living in cold climates, especially for those with conditions that are triggered by weather changes.

On a lighter note, Jeanne also does a "reveal" on what her husband got her for her birthday. (Stay tuned to see exactly what that gift was).

A copyright is in place on all of Jeanne's videos and she asks that no one re-distribute them without express permission from her.

Please visit Chronic Healing (http://chronichealing.com/) for information and support on numerous chronic conditions including endometriosis, infertility, interstitial cystitis, multiple chemical sensitivity, fibromyalgia, Raynaud's Disease and more.

In addition to discussing chronic conditions and chronic pain, we cover coping skills, relaxation techniques, tips for advocating for oneself when interacting with healthcare professionals, Internet safety, and much more.

To lighten things up, there are occasional posts with music and art. Jeanne also tries to inject a bit of levity occasionally since talking about chronic conditions can get pretty serious. (It may be a cliché but laughter really is the best medicine). Once in awhile, it helps to feature something uplifting or funny to break up the more serious posts.

The background music for this video is the song "Winter" from Tori Amos' "Little Earthquakes" CD (1991 © Warner Music UK Ltd.)

If you haven't already done so, please check out Chronic Healing at http://chronichealing.com/.

Thank you!

  • Hi Jeanne, gewat T-shirt! I have FMS & Raynauds I use heatpacks in my gloves too, they are a life saver, I am a terror for losing my leather gloves though, I need them to use my walking stick in rainy Manchester, UK! I change over to flavoured teas (that show no worsening of my illnesses) from coffee & even hot chocolate. Keep up the blogging of awareness of illnesses

    I also love Tori Amos!

  • @ragegrrl Hi! Thanks! Don't the heat packs help so much w/Reynaud's? I guard my gloves w/my life. My hubby got them on sale @ a ski shop @ end of season but they still weren't cheap. I've had a fibromyalgia flare for about 3 mos. now. It's been wicked. In the last couple days, it's FINALLY calming down a bit (as is my IC). I hope it's going to keep getting better. I LOVE TORI! Did you see the autographed picture of her on the wall in my video? See my blog for my pic backstage w/her too. Jeanne

  • PS I love your accent!

  • @ksilkman

Months behind on YouTube messages. Missed this one somehow. Whose accent? Mine? Do I have an accent? ;)

    Jeanne

P.S. 'Winter' is coming along on our piano. *wink*

    Amanda,

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I'm hoping that you don't share my "good fortune" of having Reynaud's Disease. The overlapping autoimmune illness situation gets a little old! Yes, my hubby is a sweetheart! :)

  • I love this!! I am always far colder than anyone else and my hands and feet are always freezing (although, bizarrely I am never really aware of my hands and feet being cold until I touch someone and they flinch! unless it is really cold and then they hurt like mad... let's be fair, British winters aren't quite that cold!)

I love, love, love what your husband bought you - what a great husband you have!

  • ksilkman,

Thank you! Hubby knew just what to get me for my birthday. He knows I have the "Blogging Bug" I talked about on my most recent blog post. He's no dummy. I figured YOU would appreciate the background music. :) Yes, the music corner has the piano, organ, and electronic keyboard on top of the organ. All are within reach of each other. :)

    Jeanne

  • You are so cute! I love your little reveal! Great back ground music and I love the music corner!
