Childhood Vaccines Series Intro

http://MamaNatural.com The question I get the most is "what's your take on vaccines?" Or "are you going to vaccinate your son?"

I avoided doing a vaccine video series on this for awhile since it's such a controversial issue and there isn't one "right" course of action for everyone. Additionally, it's a lot of work!

However, after much thought, I've decided to do a video series as a way to provide "food for thought" for mamas and papas as they think about their choices regarding vaccination. I say choices because there are so many ways to address this issue. You can either chose not to vaccinate at all. You can choose to vaccinate your child according the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) schedule. Or you can pick and chose which vaccines you want to give your child. And there are many choices in-between.

I've done my homework researching the different diseases and vaccines and actually changed my view on a few vaccines as a result of doing this video series. Bottom line: there are no easy answers! I also need to stress... I AM NOT A DOCTOR. Nor am I a medical professional. I'm just one natural mama, sharing her perspectives. Take what you like and leave the rest.

As you think about vaccinating or not vaccinating your child, some thoughtful questions would include:

· Is your child in daycare or have only a few caregivers?

· Does your child have siblings that are in school or daycare?

· Does either parent or caretaker work in a school or hospital, where they are exposed to many germs?

· Has the child shown any signs of a weakened immunity such as eczema, thrush, asthma, allergies, hives, and so forth?

· Do you plan on traveling internationally with child?

These considerations can either lead you to choose not to get vaccines due to your child's more delicate immunity or to choose to get vaccines to protect him/her from various diseases. Either way, if that were my child, I would get the vaccines at a slower rate than the current AAP schedule given the child's sensitivities. Additionally, parents may chose to get vaccines as a form of social service to prevent some of the now rare childhood diseases from making a comeback.

I used The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears as well as a slew of other materials as my research, including cdc.gov and Deadly Choices by Paul A. Offit M.D.

Im so glad you're having this vaccine series.

I have never thought that vaccination is this controversial until i posted my videos of how vaccination is being done here in Japan.

As i have said in my video,there is no duty to recieve vaccination here in Japan.Its a matter of parental choices but they are strongly recommended. I've never heard of a Japanese parents having arguments on this issue,its like a normal thing to do when you became parents here.

I'm very excited for this series. I enjoy learning both sides of the contraversy.  I have done delayed vaccinations. All of our children will receive their vaccines, just over a broader span of time.

Thank you for doing this series. We are choosing to not vaccinate our son because of the contents of the vaccine. Aluminum? Formaldehyde? Mercury? No thanks. I'm open to hearing other views though.

@ydoow2009 correct, the government cannot force you based on your personal belief, religion, etc (it isn't ethical, it isn't legal and don't let anyone tell you otherwise). As mentioned in the video, not all vaccines are good for all people and to force a child who may be predisposed to autism or whatever else certainly isn't ethical. I'm for vaccine safety not against vaccines :)

If you read the insert of most of vaccines they will contain Aluminum, Formaldehyde, Thimerosal these should not be injected into any child or adult. These vaccines are not for protecting your health they are about generating wealth for GlaxoSmithKline,Pfizer,Merck etc. Please make a sure you make a well informed decision and stay away from stupid site's like Quackwatch and wikipedia etc........................

The level of bias based upon quackery type fear-mongering and ignorance (autism scares even!) towards not getting the shots displayed in these videos and then comments under each video are embarrassing.

i'm so grateful that you are doing this series. my s.o. and i have a constant battle with ourselves as to what the right choice in vaccinations would be for our toddler. bravely done, mama!
