S60R can just barely reach 170 with governor removed. I'd say the VR can do 165 or so.

joining the debate iv got 99 v70 t5 240 bhp i took this up to 159mph iv gotta say how reliable they are the car has been thrashed for the last 35k miles no probs

Well, it's speed limited to 155, but it can easily go much faster than that when the governor is removed.

Why not? How fast does it go full throttle? My diesel V70 goes 130 max.
