Moving up the neck in my position studies: this time around fret area 5 and 7. In the CAGED system you could say that I play in the G-form of C (Fret 5) and then the E-form (Fret 7). Have fun and let me know how to improve my playing...We can all learn from each other and sharing is good for your Karma.

I have provided some solos on Satin Doll in Joe Pass style in the advanced section. Please read my thoughts about working with motifs. Thanks for your attention!

  • Hi TeleBop

    this is stunning playing, thanks

  • Hi Paul,

'stunning' might be a little to much honor :-) I think my playing has a melodic line in it. That's all what I try to achieve, being tired from only hearing 'correct' scales and modes.

Cheers and thanks for the 'head up'.

    Telebop.

  • hey dude where can i get the tabs for this?

  • See Part 1 for an answer.

  • that was awesome man! 2000% better than some grooveless slow Satin Doll versions I know.

  • Live is one big study isn't it?

Thanks you liked it! See you at JBGI...

  • that is nice

  • this is some really tasty vocabulary!! will follow your videos and it would be really cool to hear some fast 16th note runs in the future :)

    Anyways, this is great stuff!!

  • This is really great. It's exactly where I'm at in my studies of Satin Doll, only exercise more taste in your lines whereas I'm just getting the mechanics down of moving between scales. Your website is awesome and you're from NL too?

  • Really great jazz interpretation of this classic. I'll check out your website. Thanks!
