Gouf Custom - Unkown Soldier

A test vid, Tribute to Captain Norris and his Gouf Custom - 'cuz not many people out there give him the right recognition.

Captain Norris was a Zeon Elite Pilot, who's mission here was to destroy 3 Guntanks in order to save an escaping Zeon Refugee Shuttle (Which would otherwise be shot down by the Tanks). Norris ran into a difficulty - He faced the 08TH MS Team and their Gundams, who were ordered to protect the Guntanks.

1 Gouf VS 3 Gundams and 3 Guntanks (that's 6, if you can't count). AND he completed his mission. Imagine what it would have been like if his mission was to take down the Gundams. xD This man has skill.

@MrDeadzaku You do realize he died basically for his daughter's (step daughter) happiness, I mean he was fighting her lover at the end. And while he easily could have tore the gundam apart with heavy chain gun fire, as his arm cannon still did in fact have rounds in it. He still wanted his daughter to be happy, but he was also commited to the mission so he decided to basically kill himself completing it. He was a honorable, loving man. A fine pilot and a respectable addition to Zeon.

Heres to you Norris,

Honour sworn till the end, He did'nt stand idle when zeon lifes were at stake, nor did he fail his task.

His only weakness was his devotion to those he loved, for he could have easily killed Shiro but recognising him for Anias lover he let him live, in the end that cost him his life.

@Geoxile However apparently the rx is so simple just removing and replacing the motherboard fixes it, And i have no doubt that if the rest of shiro's squad had not arrived when they did, shiro would have died, that is just a fact . Thats why i view this battle as a series of bad luck, bad timing and just producers wanting the "good guys" to win, Norris was skilled, compitent and had a decent machine and even against the odds he ddi not falter, he got a crummy death but its set in stone now.

@Geoxile You mean him kicking his ass until his support got there and started bombarding him so he retreated? I do admit that Norris could have taken care of the other gundam units if he wished to but it would have added even more time to a mission that was running on fumes due to the sucessful advance by the federation during Odessa. But you honestly believe that shiro could take norris one on one in the same battle field they fought themselves in? my i note that he did disable shiro's gundam

He avoids Sanders and Karen because they're stuck in a defensive position with little freedom for movement. You're highly overrating Norris; the way you've described him up to this point basically suggests Shiro is a bug to him. A bug that he apparently can't simply knock down, run around, or disable. Need I remind you how Ramba Ral's battle against Amuro went?

@Geoxile But neither could he just kill the boy so he made the choice he did, whether i or you view it as the right one truely does not matter, if you want to agrue that you think Norris lacked the skill to best that feddie so be it, i disagree but neither of our opinions can ever be proven in any form besides debate like this. Norris was a complicated man and a skilled mobile suit pilot and he died for the zeonic cause like so many others did. Sieg zeon

@Geoxile and cowardly shot down a transport loaded with wounded and disabled patients yes, a glorious victory i assume, i take solace in the fact that commander who ordered it died fairly shortly afterwards. Now short of Norris lacking the ability to destory a gundam which is a joke, he piloted circles around every one, the only conclusion i can come to is that he was at a catch 22 the women who viewed him as a father figure's lover stood between him and his objective, he could not retreat

Also, if Norris really thought he could kill Shiro he would have done so like you're saying and then destroyed the Guntank, instead of letting himself die so he can get a sneak attack at the guntank. And no, his mission wasn't to "draw fire" it was to take out the artillery (MP guntanks) which is what he did. That failed anyway since the EFF launched GM snipers

@Geoxile You think Anavel Gato would have hestitated for a instant to kill a feddie even if he was connected to some he knew?that did not stop him during 0083,regardless of whether norris should have killed shiro he did not but i think it was quite probable had he decided it would be worth it, and as for him suposedly taking the fall it was not like that,he knew some one would have to draw the fire of the EF so he ate up as much of their time as he could to give the shuttle time to get clear

@akatsukifanboy102 Lighter, better thrusters, more weapons, things like that. It wasn't blind luck, Norris's only goal was to destroy the Guntank so the shuttle Zanzibar could launch. Norris basically took the fall, futilely since the GM sniper destroy the shuttle and attack the apsalus as well. I doubt many aces could, most "Aces" were known for their deeds in space. Plus norris isn't even one of the top Zeek aces IIRC,for who there are some very low kill counts
