  • Hi my name is andrew. i really like your build here. i was woundering if you could send me some plans to build this for a cnc plasma cutter. it would work great cause of the open bottom for metal to set in. and if you could get me some plans i could give you mini chopper plans in exchange.. i bought them on the net. and also i can give you some easy to make tub bender plans in return and thanks.

  • All that unsupported weight will make for very rough results. You are asking for crabbing problems by driving with 2 motors, much better 1 motor and a belt drive to the other side. If 1 motor loses steps the gantry will be out of square and your part (and mabe the machine) wrecked. Even better would have been rack and pinion on your long axis and drive both sides from one motor.

Dont want to bring you down but I made these mistakes myself.

Well done for having a go anyway :-)

  • Very nice!

    It runs very smoothly too.

I see that you have a motor at each end of the gantry. This will make for a very strong machine. Well done :) .
