  • seriously dude get a fucking life.... i bet all you do is you stalk disabled people like that and film them behind their backs because u have nothing better to do. seriously your are an asshole

  • ~ going on cam

  • Why do you stalk post polio people?

  • Or personal vanity, expense ("price-out" some of the items NEEDED by an amputee sometime, I have, and believe me it's EXPENSIVE to lose a leg, and not just for the operation), and last but not least, some actually like the "pity me factor" (surprise, surprise)!!! :)

  • PS: The above thoughts don't even touch on the thought that this woman (and others in like condition, both male and female) are (mostly) told over and over that they should consider amputation and prosthetic use only as a very last resort for their condition by "friends", family (some of whom will go so far as to "disown", divorce, or otherwise ostarcise the new amputee after the fact), and their doctors.

  • With proper care it would (probably) be easier for this woman to do all the basic things (and maybe even exceed everyone's expectations), but absent re-thinking, and doing the thing PORPERLY, she might just be "better off" with the "status quo".

  • In short voluntary amputation is the exception, due (mostly) to all the hoops the patient has to jump through, and in part, due to doctors (and btw insurers), being highly reluctant (or even flat out refusing) to allow the patient to choose their treatment.

  • Ross, Some doctors would do it for her in about three heartbeats,(if she asked, and underwent a series of psych evaluations). Some would do it without the psych stuff. The tricky part would b to convince this (or most other)individual(s) that "less is more". With a proper amputation, and a properly fitted prosthesis this is true, but most surgeons (even now) insist upon the most basic(and improper)style of amputation, and let the prosthestist(and patient) sort out the rest!

  • Wouldn't it be easier for this woman to have her leg off and use or prosthesis or crutch. How on earth could that be harder than the struggle and awkwardness she now experiences?

  • just brilliant !
