I loved it. They sent me from Mt Washington to Washington State, chasing tornadoes and hurricanes, and I was with Howard Dean on his presidential bid. It was an awesome adventure. Even the daily stories can be exciting. I was once shooting rescue hovercrafts on ice that was breaking all around me. They caught me as I was falling thru with a camera on my shoulder! I was able to be creative every day. The beat is Montreal to Lake Placid to Albany to St J's and White River J.

WPTZ finally got approval from the FCC to drop "North Pole" as the city of license.

I worked for WPTZ for about 8 years as a photog and a special assignment photog. Was around 1997 to 2005. Was a great time!! Lots of fond memories.

North Pole is the official city of license for WPTZ [which is why they even acknowledge the tiny hamlet], though their studios are in Plattsburgh (about 30 miles northeast of North Pole)

There is a small hamlet in Wilmington, NY called "North Pole, NY", one of their broadcast stations is there. So is Santa's Workshop lol (an amusement park). And yes, it's way up North in NY.
