  • Sorry if i'm disturbing you but I saw that there's also the Fiio E7 is that better than E1? Will it sound better?

  • @totallydubbedHD Haha, righto.

  • @Viczey Anytime :)

  • @RemX405 You explained perfectly. However I'll use it with MDR XB500 which are amazing headphones with iDevices (that has really good sound car I guess) and the audio files on them will be mostly in Apple Lossless Format which is the best in the world so when I'll import a CD I'll get the same quality infact each song is about 25 - 30 MB. And sometimes it could be useful with my iMac so I would get better quality from mac. But I'll buy EDIFIER S730 to listen music with my mac. Thanks :)

  • @Viczey It can be used with everything that have a 3.5 mm line out. As for the headphone thing, well, look at it this way: It AMPs everything. If you have bad quality MP3 with bad headphones, it will AMP a bad sound into an amplified bad sound, which is still bad. However, if you listen to a CD with a good pair of headphones, it will AMP the good quality which makes a better result overall. I know its not the most accurate explanation, but its the easier way to explain it.

  • @RemX405 thanks for your explication. So Fiio E11 is a pretty good amp and I'll use it for iPad / iPhone and I cannot use for my iMac right? For "you will get out of your headphones" is a good or a bad thing? Does it mean like you could not appreciate the sound difference or that will be better than normal? Anyways could you suggest to me a very good portable amp for mac / ipad / iphone usage? (sorry for disturbing)

  • @Viczey Digital to Analog converter. Basically, on your computer/ipod, the music is stored as a combination of 0 and 1 (binary). For your ear to actually ear the music, this signal need to be converted to something that headphones can react to and that is an analog signal. The better the DAC, the better definition, instrument seperation and soundstage you will get out of your headphones.

  • @RemX405 thanks for your accurate relpy! Just a thing, sorry my ignorance but what DAC stands for? I understood what a portable AMP is but not what computer DAC is :)

  • @Viczey E7 and E11 are different and can do different things. E7 can be used as a DAC with computers AND can be used as an portable AMP. However, the E11 can only be used as an AMP. If you want to use your device only and only as a portable amp to pair with your ipod/mp3 player/iphone/whatever, then the E11 is a better choice since its AMP is way better and you won't need E7 functionalities. As far as XB500, I can't tell you since I didn't tried them but it should improve your sound for sure.
