  • i heard that your not meant to wash your filter under tap water and that it must be washed out in the tank water?????????

  • @badboycarlos

I think that is true for people with hard water. We have "soft" water which I think if I am right has less contaminants. I just let the water sit for a while so that the chlorine can evaporate. Sometimes I also put a little water conditioning salt in the water before putting it in the tank.

I've been doing it this way since I was a teen and now I'm.... older. ;) and I haven't had any issues. Hope this helps.

  • your motor is in the tank on an aqueon so you don't need to fill it with water

  • You are suppose to clean your filter with washed out water in your tank,It kills beneficial bacteria in your tank, Also you don't have to take apart your whole filter system just change your filter cartridge every month or two.

  • This is a very informative video, I love when people show the breakdown of the filter too.

PS-I loved the little texts popping up in the video!
