This race see's 390 Stuart Smith Jnr as the only Superstar, who after having mixed fortunes this season, fails to make the cut for the Shoot Out series. Eager to make a good start and score as many points as possible, it wasn't long before the bumpers went in. 84, Young Tom Harris wastes no time in showing he means bussiness, and hits 391 Andy Smith into 2 Paul Harrison as they enter turn1, to take up the running as the lead Shoot Out contender. However, the trailing pack are right on his rear bumper going into turn3, and Wainman Jnr takes the opportunity to put Smith into Harris. Harris was lucky to get away with the hit, but Smith tangled with 321 Ed Neachell dropping him down the field. 390 Stuart Smith Jnr was on a charge and well up front, with Wainman Jnr in pursuit. After tangling with 2nd place White grader 253 Rob Braithwaite, Smith Jnr causes mayhem, and whole gaggle of cars charge into turm3, with Tom Harris and Paul Harrison the major casualties. Harrison's rear wheel was ripped off, ruling him out any further action. On the re-start, Wainman Jnr is in front Smith Jnr, and looks to be in good shape to challenge for the win, but appears to be struggling with his brakes and slowing the car down in the bends, as the brakes disc's glow in the darkness... 107 Lee Robinson was to take the win after keeping out of trouble, while other faltered, 390 Stuart Smith Jnr took second, 37 Chris Cowley was thrid, 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr held on for fourth and fifth was 53 John Lund.
