  • @TheNewsoul2 Absolutely correct in labeling "Machine Gun" funk and not disco. I'd agree with 90% of what you said except the labeling of Hues Corporation as disco. Music historians trying to find that first disco hit have said such but if you listen to other Hues Corporation songs - it doesn't fit. KC and the Sunshine Band formed in '73 and were recording with George McCrae in early '74 when McCrae made "Rock Your Baby". "Rock Your Baby" was written by KC and I believe the 1st true disco hit.
