  • Why nobody is able to distinguish a glass harp from glass harmonica? A glass harmonica is a more complex, more interesting instrument build of rotating glass bowls. I don't get it why most people call videos like this include a glass harmonica :(

  • @Iolchen Sorry.

  • that's actually not a glass harmonica. It's a glass harp.

  • glass harmonica

--noun a musical instrument composed of a set of graduated, revolving glass bowls, the rims of which are moistened and set in vibration by friction from the fingertips.

  • they're not revolving, or graduated. The glass harmonica is a different intrumsent.

  • Nevertheless, the artist refers to it as a glass harmonica so that's what I called it.

  • @karrachr000 Yes, that's Jim Hancock.

  • Looking forward to seeing this again as always. Great music. I'm equally looking forward to his acoustic guitar songs.

  • the glass armonica was invented so you wouldn't have to play wine glasses to get that sound. same sound different instrument

  • I saw him out at Scarborough this year. He was very good and I enjoyed the music. He's very personable when you talk to him and ask him any questions about the glasses. Whatever the name of the instrument, if you close your eyes and listen, you can be transported to a state of relaxation.

  • He does make it a point to say that its not the actual device of which you speak of, yet it is in and of itself a modern glass harmonica, and to nitpick further will just make you out to be a d-bag.

  • The recording of Lucia di Lammermoor with

Beverly Sills features a glass harmonica in

the mad scene. Recorded about 40 years ago.

    Very nice. Thanks 4 posting.

  • I love this guys music. ((...And I think he knows his own instrument...))

  • Sad that he doesn't know the name of his own instrument.
