The VA Appeals system takes, on average, 2 years to make a decision.

I called my Congressman's office (Tonko, NY, 21st District) 6 months after going before a VA Judge and THREE DAYS LATER they made a decision to up my PTSD rating from 30% to 50%.

If I get 4 years of retro disability pay is another story, but if you make the system work for you, shit gets done.

I am a Vet of OIF2 and if you are an Iraq Vet too listen to this for your own good.

I've been fighting the VA for a higher disability rating for my;PTSD,TBI,ankles, knees, and back, and have been slow balled all the way.

First thing you need to do is get an American Legion VA Rep to fight for you.

Second, call your Congress person and tell them you are a young Vet and you need help getting shit done.

Do this and shit will get done, if not then you are a sucker, sorry and you are welcome.

VA's unofficial politic is to delay, delay and delay more asking the victim to proove that all injuries are related to the service. The more you(the victim) try to proove it, the harder it get cause now they can oppose diagnostics and experts.

The system is not there to help vets, it's there to kill them faster, so they don't have to pay.

As a veteran, I am stuck in this ''procedure of appeal'' myself, trying to be admited to a VA medical center.
