May 15th 2009, SINGAPORE Crowds at the Singapore Marina Barrage this Friday evening get to see the visual spectacle of Helios II — a performance based on the legend of the birth of the sun god Helios.
A giant praying mantis made up of recycled materials is definitely the centre piece of the performance based on the exclamations and camera clicks upon its appearance, which is essentially an old lift elevator as well as a small truck, dismantled and put together as one.
And in the weeks ahead, free outdoor events to celebrate the Singapore Arts Festival which runs from May 15 to June 14 is expected to be full of visitors as of this evening's spectacular performance from the daring French performers.
