@savannah: There wasn't an "uproar" when Lennon first sang it. Atheists make up over 10% of this country. And that's just ones open enough to admit it on a census. I'm not a fan of editing paintings to suit some crybaby religious nut and I'm sure as hell not a fan of editing song lyrics to cater to hypersensitive nuts either. Fact is, religious divisiveness causes a lot of the problems in the world and THAT's what Lennon was singing about. What they should have done was another song.
