The first of my "Cancer Series", redone completely.
My mom was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer (from prolonged smoking); it was, at first, in her lungs & lymphnodes in her neck. It was inoperable, so they did chemo & preventative radiation on her brain.
A year later she was in hospice...

My Dad was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer, he refused any treatment.
The Dr's thoughts were 3 to 6 months.
He Didn't fuss and just got on with it.
That was 43 Months ago, he is now 82 and goes out each day he eats well, sleeps well, and is content of mind!
OK he gets chest infections 2 to 4 times a year and has slowed down somewhat.
I believe if he had received aggressive treatment he would have been dead about 3 years ago, perhaps from fear,,, perhaps from treatment! Who Knows?

My Mom was diagnosed with small cell this past June. Like your Mom, they fought it with Radiation & Chemo. 6 weeks later we found out that it spread to her brain, she died August 25th, one month ago today. It helps me a little to know that someone else knows what I'm going through. May our Moms rest in peace.

My dad was diagnosed with small cell in 2000 and died 4 months later. I had similar circumstances such as the cancer went to my dad's brain also and he waited for us when he passed away. My brother was 19 when he died and was forced to find a job and move out of my dad's house. My life hasn't been the same since he passed away. I feel like I lost the most important thing in my life and I hope I can see him again in the future. He may have smoked but he didn't deserve to die that way. Great video

Every Wednesday at dailystrength(.)org, in the smoking addiction and recovery group, we have a virtual "bonfire" where we burn the cigarettes we haven't smoked since we quit. This week we have dedicated our bonfire to your mom for teaching us once again, through your touching testimony, why we should never smoke again. Thank you for sharing with us.
Feel free to drop by and say hi if you wish and also to add our support group to your links.
