Rising Sun is a musical based in a Japanese Women's Prisoner of War camp at the end of the Second World War. It is a musical by Tim J Spencer and features an all female cast of 12.
This is the final song of the piece and is sung just after the girls are told that, rather than be executed, they will be released and sent home. Using the "Somewhere" theme from earlier in the show and three of the other numbers intertwined the song is the release and relief of years of imprisonment.
This performance is taken from the Wilson Roberts production at the New Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon in 2009.
Rising Sun is now available for performance from any group from www.greenpandatheatre.co.uk and available as either a hard copy traditional book format or a pdf download package.
