  • @guitarmikey2 No problem. Again, thanks for hosting this contest and sweet prizes. As with my Grip, I sort of knew it would break and wasn't really willing to send it back to warranty (it would have been covered, my friend did the same thing and got a brand new Grip). I was batoning, against the grain, extra pine stakes. It dug in deep and as I pulled the knife out the edge tore out. One reason why I really don't like hollow ground blades any more (except for straight razors).

  • @SharpSpears Oh, and as far as kitchen duty, I just really like that the thumbstuds/thumbhole are two perfect tactile points and it's really fun chopping up the smaller vegetables and making precise cuts with meats, especially for stir-fry. With most veggies (i.e. dicing lettuce) and steak cuts, the Santoku is the way to go.
