  • Tell me about these birds. Are they big or do they pick at the rock hard fruit? Aroud here the only birds I have found to eat apples are our chickens.

  • Do the fruits smell nice ? I've had a little quince bush with a little small yellow apples when I was young I remember they smelled really nice. Only I don't know which species of the tree was it.

  • It's interesting that you say you don't eat them raw. I have grown up with them and I have only known about eating them raw. What makes them really nice is having a pot of salt with you while eating them with a knife. Put salt on each slice and they are really good.

  • Brazilians also make paste out of it...

    quince=marmelo...marmelada!

  • I never heard of them either. I guess if something isn't easy to eat then most don't bother. Thanks for posting.

  • Never heard of quince before, thanks for sharing!
