Why is the Fury parked in the background of the crashed F-16 (in this video: 6nY4Pt3RivM) if the Fury overran the runway AFTER the F-16 overran?

at 0:13 the T-28 with the shark mouth is the one that crashed in west viriginia in september RIP

@jpatt1000 Agreed. That would be fantastic!! However, I actually haven't heard a word about it! :(

@TennisStud92 Good to hear it. Have you heard anything about the F7U Cutlass restoration? It was at auction at Airventure last year, but I've not heard anything else. That would be cool in a Legacy Flight!

@jpatt1000 That was it! Just blew the tire when the brakes got hot. I agree, I really hope he keeps flying it... I don't think that he'll get discouraged though haha he got it ready and back in the air the same day it got tugged out of the grass! haha he "HAD to get to a show in Montana" lol

@TennisStud92 Yeah. The fact that it's half the weight of the F-16 and built for carrier duty probably helped it stay on it's gear. That's twice for Mr. Sudgen. I just hope he doesn't get discouraged and decides to not fly it anymore. I'm sure the fact that it is the only one left flying weighs heavily on his mind, but thanks for putting it in the air! I heard all it did was pull a tire off of a rim. Did you hear anything?

@RichKolasa How is the pilot going to KNOW whether his brakes are gonna fail or not? I don't recall almost ever seeing Dr. Sudgen land with any flaps in the Fury. And my apologies, but i was on 9/27 when the f-16 ran off, but I've talked to many people and watched as many videos as i can find, and they all appeared that he landed with much less runway than he should have. Also, the only reason the Fury went further than the F-16 is because the F-16's nose gear collapsed and dug into the ground.

You're "opinion" is wrong. First, the Fury landed more than 2000' past threshold (I photographed landing) with no flaps. Second, the second F-16 landed at approximately the same spot as F-16 lead. I was on the platform by the main taxiway (about 2500' from the departure end of 36) and photographed both F-16s rolling out, nose-high in aerodynamic braking. F-16 #2 even was more nose-high. There's no way he "landed with less than a third of the runway left". Both were down@same spot

Maybe its the heat. Just a guess.
I don't know if brake issues were involved. He did land long, hot, and with the wind...same as the F-16. He also didn't reach another paved taxi way... the Fury came to rest right about next to the F-16.

@airventuregeek Thanks for the clarification. I heard the airboss ask over the radio what happened to the FJ4 because he lost sight of it. Someone replied that he came out the other side and was ok. Once EAA makes a official statement on the incident I will amend my description.
